During PE, Year 3 enjoyed practicing our netball skills during a game of netball by practicing the different passes we have previously learnt in previous PE lessons.
Year 3 spent their forest school afternoon looking at compass points as part of their geography topic, One Planet, Our World.
We looked at identifying where north, south, east and west was in the nature garden, and working out the directions to different locations. We then challenged each other by giving our partner directions to follow to reach a given point.
We loved our afternoon outdoors and didn’t let the rain deter us!
In PE, Year 3 have practiced new skills for netball which included pivoting and passing to our partner. We then practiced our shooting techniques by placing our feet without moving and deciding which pass to use and which direction to throw.
During Science, year 3 were discussing what a joint is used for. Inaya and Hunter demonstrated what it would be like if we did not have joints joining our bones together. In their words “This is extremely difficult”.
This week, Year 3 have focused on different passes and how we would use each pass when passing to our team members.
For Picture News this morning, Year 3 looked at books which were more accessible for schools. We discussed our favourite books, their authors and which books we would like to read in the near future. 
In Year 3, this week we have looked at some sign language. In class together we learnt how to sign different greetings, how to ask and answer questions. Great work Year 3!
In Year Three, we have been refining our column addition skills in our arithmetic lesson. We even used practical resources to help us.
In DT, Year 3 are looking at different methods of cooking. We looked at how we could cook potatoes, thinking about boiling, frying and baking. We looked at safe food preparation, and talked about which methods would be the healthiest.

Year 3, for our SMSC lessons we have debated in groups on which chocolate is the best and thought about our questioning and responses. We then thought of important questions to ask Councillor Paul who came in to talk to us about who he was, hi job and how he helps the people in our community.
