This week in PE, Year 3 practiced their gymnastics routine which included 2 jumps, 2 balances, a travel and 2 rolls. Great work Year 3!

Year 3 practiced how to say their birthdays in Spanish yesterday. Mr Matias asked us when our birthday was and we responded with when it was.
Today in English, Year 3 researched our Art, Mover and Sharker L S Lowry. We gathered information and typed it up on Seesaw to use it for are shape poems. Super work Year 3!

As part of Rocks, Relics and Rumbles Day, Year 3 had Rachel and Sophie visit us from The Sill in Northumberland. They ran a workshop on how rocks are formed, how they are used and they even brought in a variety of rocks for us to identify and categorise. We really enjoyed our morning working with them and learned lots of new information to go alongside our existing knowledge!

Year 3 watched an animation of Pompeii when Mount Vesuvius erupted. At different points of the video we paused it showing the eruption and its effects at different times over the 2 days. The children recorded in pairs using SeeSaw to record discussions of what was happening in the moments and then the effect it had.

For Time to Talk Day, Year Three firstly worked in groups and worked together by discussing about what we have learned so far about Rocks Relics and Rumbles. We also worked in pairs to find information to create news reports and then presented them to the class. We then were challenged to become newsreaders and reporters to produce a televised news report about our topic so far. We then presented this for our parents/carers for are Cool afternoon. We then thought of questions to ask are parents about what facts they have learned.

Year 3 played charades this morning as part of our oracy challenges. This week’s oracy focus was on gesturing so what better way to practice our gestures than charades!
In their Gold Task in Art, Year 3 have sculpted an ammonite using clay and clay tools. We then took photographs on Seesaw in different lightning and from different angles. Here are some of the ammonites we have sculpted.

Year 3 looked at the Ring of Fire in Geography yesterday! They then worked in pairs to separate statements about the Ring of Fire into true or false.

In Spanish, Year 3 focused on learning their numbers 21-30 in Spanish. We then had to listen to a number in English and rewrite the numbers in Spanish.
