Freya and Sebastian created ‘stay safe’ rainbows last week and today as part of some English work they wrote letters to their Grandparents who they are missing very much! Trying to spread some cheer
Mrs Pennock and her sons have been recycling milk bottles by turning them into bird houses. We are just waiting to be able to get some bird seed to go inside.

Miss McKeown sent me this lovely idea to try with Martha. We thought that we would share it with you all because it was very easy to do and kept us busy for a quite a while this morning.
We read the story of Elmer the Elephant and then made our very own Elmer using a recycled milk carton and collage materials from our craft box. If anybody tries this activity, please can you comment with your photographs below? Martha and I would love to see them!

Miss Booth has been making the most of the lovely weather and has been going on bike rides along South Shields coast with Joe. The fresh air is much needed after being in the house all day. Miss Booth is missing all of her little ones so so much and is loving the emails to see what you are up to! Take care everyone 🥰
On Thursday Mrs Pennock and her sons Daniel and Ethan used their allocated exercise time to go for a spring nature hunt along the river Tyne where the boys had to find and tick off different flowers as well as insects and birds. Once we were home again the boys wrote about what they had found and drew pictures to go with it.
I just thought I would update you with what Amelia has been up to.
So far…
Amelia has been a great student and is enjoying her school routine (I think her older sisters have helped).
She has also spend a lot of time in the kitchen. This is where Amelia comes alive. Amelia loves to cook & bake. Experimenting with different flavours and textures.
So far she has made a Shepherds Pie, Apple Crumble (with almonds) & Spaghetti Bolognese.
She is already planning tomorrow’s feast 🙂

On Friday 6th March, year 1 took part in a road safety workshop. Miss Booth was extremely impressed with how knowledgable year 1 were with how to keep safe on the roads! Well done year 1
On Wednesday 11th March, year 1 learnt how people communicated in the 17th century compared to the present day. We learnt how we find out about fires now compared to during the Great Fire of London. Most importantly we learnt how to make emergency calls. We then role played this and made fire safety posters. Well done year 1!
On Monday 9th March, year 1 investigated which material would be the most suitable to build the 3 little pigs house. First, we had to write a prediction of which material would be the most and least suitable. We then worked in mixed ability groups to build either a Lego, play dough or paper straw house. We then did the blow test! For the test, we used our own breath to test the strength of the houses we had built. Miss Booth then used a more powerful wind to test the houses…a hair dryer! Year 1 loved this investigation and realised Lego was the most suitable material as it is strong and stable. Super job year 1!
