Fit 4 Fun has been amazing! Here are our year 2 children enjoying their morning!
On Thursday morning Year 2 completed a carousel of activities linked to their learning around time. Children read different clock faces, matched the clock faces to the time, ordered time from earliest to latest and also used the clock faces to show the different times. Miss McKeown and Mrs Foster were impressed with everyone’s independence, engagement and fluency when using language of time.
Year 2 loved their session with Mr Usher yesterday afternoon in Forest School. Children discussed the basic needs for survival and how they were different to wants. In groups, children made their own shelters. One group were able to keep the water out! Finally children ranked the needs of survival from most to least important. Staff were impressed with their evaluation skills.
Year 2 were absolutely loving having music on the yard this morning. They loved dancing to some of their favourite pop songs. Children made up their own dances and we loved everyone dancing together in the sunshine ☀️
Year 2 loved showing their support for the England vs Scotland match on Friday with their red, white and blue. Everyone looked fabulous and hopefully we have contributed towards our fundraising.
On Monday 14th June Year 2 learnt all about composition for their Music Day. To begin with, children looked at musical vocabulary such as beat, pitch and rhythm. After that, we looked at graphic symbols to represent different beats. We then used body percussions and chants. To finish we used Google Shared Piano to represent different animals, beats, rhythms and pitches. We would love our parents to view our learning on Seesaw.
This half term Year 2 have been learning about the artist Paul Klee. Over the term they have been learning the different skills to create their own version of Paul Klee’s painting ‘Castle in the sun’. Mrs Wood and Miss McKeown are blown away with everyone’s final artwork. Well done Year 2.
Here is our lovely Noah enjoying walk to school week, this week! Keep it up Noah and mam, Linzi!
This morning Nolan was pleased his mam was off work for the day so he could go to school on his scooter!
Celebrating Eid! Today Year 2 were lucky enough to celebrate the end of Ramadan. During our English session we completed a comprehension all about Ramadan and Eid and then used this to create our own presentations on Seesaw. During the afternoon we were being creative and made our own lanterns. Hi a was very kind to bring in food for us all to try! We all looked very smart in our special clothes!
