In PE year 3 have been creating a dance using our Stone Age topic. We used moves such as hunting, fishing, fire, carving weapons, Stone Henge and building. We used the knowledge that we have learnt in our lessons to help us retell a story of what the Stone Age looked like.
This week, Year 3 spent their Forest School afternoon looking at our carbon footprint as part of their Geography topic ‘One Planet, Our World’.
We discussed what a carbon footprint meant, and we completed a task sorting out what would increase our carbon footprint, and what would decrease it. We then created our own posters to promote all of the things we could do to decrease the amount of energy we use every day at home and in school. Well done Year 3!
Year 3 had a fantastic full day of learning at Segedunum. First me learnt about the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic periods on a time line. We then weaved sticks to create a pattern just like the Stone Age people did to help them create their houses. We then got into groups and made our own tribe and made up our own tribe name and using face paint we created our own tribe logo.
We then created prehistoric pots using clay and designing them with different patterns.
We had such great jammed packed day!
Year three had a wonderful time learning about young carers and how they support their families. We enjoyed some of our parents coming in to help us with some fun Children In Need activities.
Year three have been challenged this week by Mr Richardson for Maths Week England. We have really loved learning new problem solving skills!
Year Three had a great day learning all about diabetes for World Diabetes Day. We had a visit from Alice and Sarah learning about their experiences of diabetes and even did a Kahoot quiz to see what we had learnt! We then searched the Internet for additional information to answer questions about diabetes.
At the end of the day we listened to a story called ‘Teddy Talks’ which was all about a little girl who had type 1 diabetes. Year Three had a fantastic time learning about diabetes and we have learnt so much!
This morning year 3 were super excited to find out the gender of Mrs Chalder’s baby. We had a drum roll and Mrs Chalder revealed it’s a BOY! We had lots of happy faces in year 3 this morning

In year 3, we worked in groups to learn how we would dance if we were from the Stone Age. Some of us were clapping, stomping, throwing stones, sliding and created some art movements!
