In science year 3 enjoyed a practical experiment where we tested various balls and toys to measure the frictional force against smooth and rough surfaces.

Year 3 had a fun filled morning taking part in Temple Park’s multi sports festival. We did lots of sporty activities and we had such a great time!

Year 3 performed their shape poems about volcanoes. We tried using different tone of voices, expressions and some of us used actions linked to volcanos. Mrs Chalder and Mrs Chamberlain were very impressed as this is a tricky skill! 🌋

Year three have been celebrating World Religions Day with a focus on Buddhism. We spent time with Year four looking at and discussing different resources linked to Buddhism. We then began our RE topic of ‘Religious Festivals’ and looked at the Buddhist Festival of Wesak. We made our own Wesak lanterns to show how some Buddhists celebrate this festival.

Y3 loved their workshop with Rachel from Dogs Trust this morning. We have learnt how we can be a dogs best friend and respect them, thinking carefully about how we show dogs affection, what we do when a dog is busy and always thinking about giving dogs a choice. We then made best friend promises to dogs we have in our home or dogs we know. Well done Y3 🐾⭐️🐶

In gymnastics we have been practicing our different points of balance and what makes a balance. We tried to hold our balances for 3-5 seconds even if it was really tricky!

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed our Healthy Minds session with Lucy who taught us about the 5 Ways to Well-being! 

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their practical maths this morning whilst continuing with our geometry learning. 

Year Three had a fantastic day cooking for our DT lesson. We first planned what ingredients and filling we wanted in our tacos and thought about how we can be safe and what we need to do while we are cooking. We used different skills such as chopping, grating, peeling and stirring. Then we choose our toppings and sauce. We then devoured our tacos as they were so tasty. #TacoThursday
