This week, year 3 performed their gymnastics routine using a starting position, jumps, rolls, balances and finishing with an end position. We have learnt all of these skills in our gymnastics unit and showed off our sticky knowledge. See our videos on Seesaw, we think you’ll be impressed!
Year 3 had had a fantastic time at the library this morning. We got to listen to some funny books which were called ‘Don’t eat Pete’ and ‘Don’t say elephant.’ We then looked at some books which were linked to our topic ‘Rocks, Relics and Rumbles.’ We then got to choose our own library books to take back to school which we can’t wait to read. We can’t wait for our next visit to the library!
Year 3 explored, investigated and compared a range of magnets. We explored how different magnets such as horseshoe magnets, magnetic marbles and rotating magnets attract and repel each other. We labelled diagrams and recorded our observations. Super work year 3.
Year 3 participated in different debates such as:
Well done year 3!

This week our worship theme is My Voice Matters, Mrs Whittle joined us for worship today to show us an experiment using apples and how we can use our words in a positive and negative manner. Mrs Whittle cut up the apples to show us that although the outside of the apples looked the same, the inside of one was bruised from the negative words we used. We then completed our own mind maps to show how we can use our voice appropriately and for good 🎤🤍
Year 3 have been continuing our RE learning of religious festivals. Last week, we focused on the Hindu festival of Diwali. The children have created fact files to showcase their knowledge and also created their own Diya lamps using salt dough with Mrs Chamberlain 🪔We are absolutely loving this practical RE unit.
Year 3 have been continuing with our science learning of Forces and Magnets. This week, we have been experimenting with magnets and finding items in the classroom that have a magnetic force. We have been learning all about how magnets have a North and South Pole and how they attract and repel each other. Year 3 are loving this science unit! 🧲

This afternoon year 3 have been continuing with our science learning of Forces and Magnets. We have been using force meters to measure everyday tasks and record in Newtons. We have then carried out an experiment where we have tested our shoes against 5 different surfaces to test the frictional force.
