Year 4 had a fab Forest School session yesterday! The cold weather worked in our favour for our afternoon exploring solids, liquids and gases for our new science topic, ‘States of Matter’. On our hunt for different materials we loved finding ice, thinking about it had changed state from a liquid to a solid, and some of us enjoyed trying to reverse the freezing process to change it back to a liquid. Great work Year 4! 
Year 4 took part in a workshop ran by Nexus this morning. We learned all about the exciting new metro trains, and more importantly, how to stay safe on the metro and near the tracks. We talked about where is the safest place to stand on the metro platform, and what to do if we need help. 
Year 4 have been thinking about composition in music. We looked at different instruments in our COOL task, thinking about the way we could use them to make different sounds. We worked in groups to look at how we could create our own piece of music. Year 4 loved this and can’t wait to explore composition this half term. 
Year 4 have loved kickstarting their new art topic, ‘Vista’. After researching some landscape artwork we liked, we created our own picture frames to see what landscapes we could capture in them. We experimented with different views and discussed which ones we liked best and why!
In English, Year 4 have started to look at persuasive writing. Today, we worked in partners, and picked a topic to debate. Using our eyes to eyes and knees to knees technique, we discussed the reasons for and against our argument, and then thought about the language we could use to persuade our audience. We then recorded our arguments on Seesaw, thinking about our physical oracy skills when doing this, ensuring we were speaking with clarity.
What a fabulously festive afternoon we all had watching the pantomime yesterday! Year 4 LOVED Mother Goose, and we all had such a gorgeous time!
Year 3/4 had a fantastic Christmas party with lots of dancing and party games!
Year 4 were lucky enough to take part in the Skip Into Christmas Festival at Temple Park today! We loved taking part in all of the skipping challenges and had so much fun!
Year 4 enjoyed their Christmas Stem day this week. We focused on making a Christmas decoration using natural materials, thinking about how we could cut and join our materials. Well done Year 4, we think they’ve turned out fab!
What a gorgeous time Year 4 had for our Winter Wonderland yesterday! We loved our hot chocolates and marshmallows around the fire and getting our golden ticket punched by our conductor, Mr Richardson!
It was so lovely being able to share some lovely festive magic with our parents and carers who were able to come along!
