To end our guided maths session today, and to help practice our times tables ahead of our multiplication check this year, Year 4 enjoyed a game of around the world! Jackson was our champion of the game, with a winning streak of 12!

Year 4 have loved this half term of swimming! We worked super hard in our last lesson before the half term, and can’t wait to get back in the pool again after the holidays!

Year 4 have been looking at narrative poetry in English. To help us think about writing in stanzas, Mr B wrote his own poem for us! He then challenged us to put it in the correct order, thinking about how we could break it down into stanzas.

This half term, year 4 have been working on a new worship song. We have practised this over the last six weeks, and showcased our song by performing it for the rest of the school this morning.
Year 4 have been doing some reflection on character traits this last week with Miss Marley and Mr Richardson. We have been looking at what traits make a good friend, and have been thinking about how our actions can have an impact on others. We used our class ‘You Are…’ mirror to see if we can identify our own positive character traits.
Year 4 have been investigating the water cycle. We set up our own water cycle experiment to see if we could see the effects of evaporation and condensation. We made predictions before we started, and then made observations throughout the day.

This week in swimming, Year 4 have moved onto breast stroke. This was one of the trickiest strokes but we all worked super hard to master the technique.

Year 4 absolutely loved this weeks oracy challenge around posture! We were challenged to see if we balance a book on our head, which we found was much easier when we had the correct posture!

Building on all we learned in our online music session with Mrs Smith last week, Year 4 have continued with our learning around composition this week. We used our notation grids again to put together our own composition, but instead of clapping out the notes, this time we used instruments and worked in groups to put our compositions together.
As part of a Safer Internet Day, Year 4 have been looking at the importance of staying safe online. We looked at how we could identify risks on the internet, including cyber bullying, misinformation and unsafe sharing.
