Reception had so much fun creating a moving puppet using card , split pins and control sticks today.

Yesterday, reception celebrated Fibonacci, an Italian mathematician whose focus was patterns. Children have explored the outdoors for patterns in nature and created their own spiral pattern in the style of Fibonacci. Children have also copied and continued repeated patterns and completed a range of pattern activities within their independent learning. Well done superstars
Reception have been continuing with their learning of the nativity story. We tasted sweet mince pies and discussed the design on the pies. The children identified the importance of the star and enjoyed the sweet treat. 

On Friday, reception celebrated Children in Need. This years theme is challenge yourself. Reception were set different challenges across the day linked to maths, throwing and building. We also has lots of Pudsey activities in our independent learning too. Well done reception

We travelled in style on a new metro to the Jam Jar cinema in Whitely Bay.

This week is Anti-bullying Week, for worship reception discussed what bullying is and what we would do to stop or help someone. Well done reception, super ideas! 
Reception used their creative skills to produce a paper plate puppet. We started by folding the plate in half to create a mouth. As we decorated the plate, we thought about a name and how our puppet would speak.
