Reception enjoyed learning about QR codes and how they are used in everyday life. They were excited to apply their digital knowledge by scanning and assessing a range of QR codes, which supported their confidence with technology.
Today in Reception, we learnt about Shrove Tuesday , also known as pancake day!
To celebrate, we became little chefs and put our cooking skills into action. We had lots of fun making pancakes and, best of all, enjoyed eating them together. It was a very tasty way to learn about this special festival!
This morning reception have been combining shapes with 4 sides. We have used blocks to create prints of squares and rectangles.
Yesterday , Reception had a wonderful time learning the nursery rhyme ‘The Queen of Hearts.’
To bring the rhyme to life, we used our cooking skills to make jam tarts- just like the Queen of Hearts! The best part, of course, was tasting them and they were delicious

Reception put their bat, ball and net skills into action during PE today. We practised controlling a ball using rackets, then partnered up to throw and catch a ball over a net with a friend. 
Little Bo Peep had lost her sheep and didn’t know where to find them! Yesterday, Reception came to the rescue by using their phonics and reading skills to read a set of clues. With fantastic teamwork and super reading, we managed to find all 10 sheep.Well done, Reception 
This week in PE, Year 5 continued to develop their skills in tag rugby. We focused on catching this week, and how we could run and catch the ball at the same time.
During PE today, Reception practised their rolling skills. We began by rolling a ball to hit a target and then moved on to a game called ‘Collision’.
The children loved this activity. They worked in partners, releasing their balls at the same time to create a rolling collision.
