Reception have been observing their bean plants over the past few weeks. Today, they decided it was time to show off their ‘green fingers’ by planting the beans into the soil.
In RE this week, reception have been continuing our learning of The Easter Story, we considered why hot cross buns are a symbol of Easter. The children recapped the story, then tasted hot cross buns and discussed the cross symbol and what it means for Christians. 
Reception thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the library yesterday, look at the new books we brought back to school!
Reception explored printing using a variety of fruit and vegetables. We rolled and pressed the items onto paper to create patterns and textures. As we experimented, we observed different shapes including curves, circles, dots and lines.
Reception, took part in a creative art activity inspired by spring.
Reception enjoyed an afternoon in West Park, kicking off our new topic Signs of Spring and trying to find some signs of Spring of our own!
Reception had a wonderful morning celebrating World Book Day! Our costumes were fantastic and the children loved engaging with The Extraordinary Gardener book, whilst also become gardeners themselves!
Reception and year 6 buddied up for our prayer space afternoon, last week, the children worked gorgeously together, Mrs Chalder and Mr Appleby were so impressed! 
Reception explored the nursery rhyme Horsey, Horsey today. We began our adventure at Forest school , where we searched for the best stick to create our very own hobby horses. Afterwards, we moved into the garden where the children brought their hobby horse to life. They jumped over hurdles and galloped around an obstacle course, pretending to ride just like the rhyme.
