In Science, we conducted an investigation to find out ‘What type of exercise will have the greatest effect on heart rate?’ We compared our resting heart rate with our heart rate after we performed each exercise. Some of us used our carotid pulse: others used our radial pulse.
As part of our Maafa KRP (Knowledge Rich Project), we have been looking at ‘Trailblazers and barrier breakers’ in art. We looked closely at nine pieces of art from different black artists and answered questions like, “Does the artwork tell a story? “
Year Six took part in a High Intensity Interval Training session called ‘Insanity.’ We were extremely exhausted but we powered through. We then did some stretching and yoga poses. “Don’t give up – Dig Deeper!”
Year 6 enjoyed their trip to the library. We spent some time choosing books and reading for pleasure. Some of us like books around football.
Special thank you to Katie from Science Buddies who visited our Y6s this morning to carry out a heart dissection workshop. The children examined lambs’ hearts and looked at their structure, size and colour. The children also impressed Katie with their fantastic sticky knowledge around the heart’s functions. Well done, Y6!
Reception and Year 6 buddied up to enjoy and reflect for International Day of Peace

Year 6 were engrossed in the first few chapters of their class novel – Freedom- which is linked to their topic Maafa.

Here’s Year 5 in the sun, enjoying Fit 4 Fun. We loved the great range of activities on offer at each station…
