Y4 and Y5’s oracy challenge this week was to take part in a workshop led by Mrs Smith all about managing our time. Mrs Smith filled a container with rocks, gravel and water to represent all the different aspects of life we need to juggle in our lives, learning how to prioritise, plan and prepare.
The workshop helped the children to reflect on their daily lives and on how they will work towards their end-of-year oracy speeches in the coming weeks. Thank you, Mrs Smith!

Mr Appleby led a HIIT session for Y5 after their athletics trip was cancelled. He worked us really hard!
Year 5 have moved onto batting this PE lesson. We played in five groups of five. At first they practiced throwing and clap catching. Then they did some games. They had so much fun and are ready for next week!
Y5 learned chords using the C major scale and improvised with adding these to a drone as an overlay to video footage of the Aegean Sea in line with the Groundbreaking Greeks learning. They then went on to produce eight-bar compositions using the taught skills.
In Oracy, Year 5 have been bringing their play scripts to life today! Focusing on using stage directions, expression and voice projection to turn their scripts into a powerful performance! Well done Year 5!
Today in Science, Year 5 investigated the properties of different materials. We had great fun making predictions and finding out if we were right!
Y5 learned about the refuse worker strike in Birmingham. Mr Richardson tipped rubbish all over the classroom floor and we discussed whose responsibility it was to clean this up and why. Some great points were made. Well done, Y5!
