On Wednesday, Year 3 joined other schools from South Tyneside to take part in the first Outdoor Adventurous Activity Festival and it was brilliant. We worked in teams to find clues, solve puzzles and take on challenges all within South Marine Park in South Shields.
It was Jubilee jubilations everywhere today. Year 3 have had a fantastic day!
Yesterday we celebrated the Queen’s 70 years on the throne by learning Elgar’s Land of Hope and Glory. After some sustained listening and reading of staff notation they took to the glockenspiels. Next, Matthew showed us his piano skills and gave a great introduction for when we performed in the hall.
“Best day ever” was heard a few times in Year 3 today and we were so proud of how they interviewed and took part in the activities with our volunteers. We’ve had an FA kit designer, a chef, a pharmacist, a radiologist to name just a few. The sky is the limit Year 3!
Year 3 said ‘au revoir’ to their French Food and Nutrition learning after a jam-packed couple of weeks. Well done Year 3!
On Wednesday morning Year 3 were making comparative observations during transition. We placed flowers into water mixed with food colouring to test the speed of water transportation. The flowers were all in different conditions. We began our observations and we are looking forward to seeing the end result.
Yesterday, our year 3 and 4 gymnastics teams attended The Urban Factory to compete against other schools. Our year 3s finished 5th and our year 4s finished 3rd – you can probably see how much fun they had!
Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the library at Jarrow Focus. After listening to some stories, they chose their own books to loan and found some cosy reading spots. We can’t wait to go back again!
Year 3 have had the best time writing code at The Word in South Shields today. Mr Robert from Openzone showed the children how to write a programme using the Lego software to control their own Lego creations. We had Alligators with snapping jaws, a sleeping giant being woken up and goalkeepers saving goals to name a few.
