Year 3 loved their visit from the Dog’s Trust. Rachael was full of great tips on how to act and behave around dogs and what to do if you’re feeling nervous.
Having not done coding since Autumn term, Mrs Conway was expecting to recap a lot of skills yesterday. However, it was clear the children had remembered so much from our trip to The Word. Using Scratch, the children wrote code to not only move their sprites around the screen using sound effects but they got their sprites to have a conversation too!
So today Year 3 had their first transition morning in preparation for Year 4. We talked about what to expect in Year 4 and had lots of opportunities to ask questions. Miss Marley and Mrs O’Doherty loved getting to know the class better as they shared what they are looking forward to for the year ahead, and some of their favourite things!
Year 3 have concluded their Spanish learning for the Year. They have loved having Mr Matias teach them Spanish introductions, greetings, ages, colours, numbers and fruits. In their final session, the children used their knowledge to have a conversation in Spanish with Mr M.
What a show! Huge thank you to everyone who came to watch a Year 4 perform in their Easter Show, they were absolutely amazing! And a huge well done to Year 3 for their brilliant singing!
Year 3 enjoyed a wonderful COOL afternoon on Friday. We had Mams, Dads, Grandparents and even a baby sister! The children’s aim was to show the visitors how to make a clay ammonite having made one earlier in the week. Year 3 were very impressed with how well their family members followed the plan and the results were fantastic. Thanks for coming to share our learning!
Year 3 kicked off their Science STEM week with an investigation studying a range of magnetic and non-magnetic materials. There were a few surprises, such as a rock, liquid and some putty! Next they grouped their results and then organised them into a physical Carroll Diagram before doing their own!
Some children in Year 3 and 4 joined forces to lead our whole school worship in the hall on Monday morning. They hosted a fantastic discussion about trust and in particular, what Christians believe in trusting Jesus. Clear and confident speaking and a lively finish dancing to My Lighthouse meant everyone left energised! Well done Y3/4 worshippers!
Year 3 had a fantastic day. We loved all of their amazing costumes.
