Our KS1 reading club watched and listened to Superworm, completed some colouring and playdough activities and then went on a Superworm hunt!
This week in forest club, we were kindly gifted two fruit trees to plant! We have planted a pear tree and apple tree, and also planted lots of sunflowers too! We are very much looking forward to watching these all grow!
We chatted about the legacy of the trees, wondering someday if our gorgeous forest clubbers own families might gather around them too! 🌳💚
Last night, we celebrated International Women’s Day and #LetGirlsPlay by hosting a football session with our girls football team. We even tried to recreate some of the World Cup winning England women’s team goals!
‘Evie has had an amazing night at the hockey. She bought the signed programme, which meant she got to go on the ice with all the players. Then to top it off, she met Sam Fender 😯‘
‘On Saturday night, Rory celebrated with his big brother Layton. On getting the award for most improved with his kickboxing club Burns School of Black Belts, this his last awards night before he becomes a black belt at the end of this month (march)
Go Rory 🥋🥊‘
Celebrating Pancake Day a little later for our Forest Clubbers with a night of BBQ pancakes! Don’t know what we enjoyed the most…the pancakes or the Nutella and marshmallow toppings!
📚📖READ ALL ABOUT IT! 📚📖
There’s a new book swap at St Oswald’s!
You’ll notice that at the front of the school building we now have our new, gorgeous book swap shed! What better way to celebrate World Book Day, then to extend our love of reading to our parents & carers too.
Our new reading hut is a place for you to come and pick a new book, leaving/swapping a book if you want… Let’s show reading for pleasure at home and at school!
Enjoy! ✨
‘Once Aaron & Harry found out they weren’t going to the dentist, they were super excited! They have never been to another country before and loved the whole experience!
They had an overnight stay on the ferry to Amsterdam, then spent a few hours in the city of Amsterdam before heading back to the ferry.
While in the city, we visited Madame Tussaudes and seen lots of famous people, including all the avenger super hero’s!
Harry has especially taken a fancy to kids pina coladas!’
Half term fun for Simon… ‘We went away for a few nights where we explored a super steep street in Lincoln next to the castle and cathedral, did lots of swimming, had our own hot tub, did archery and visited a farm that had 5 day old piglets. We also bottle fed lambs and watched a cow get milked. There was even an indoor cannon battle barn that everyone, including Grandad, had so much fun in!’
