Wow what a busy day reception have had! This afternoon we had a forest school afternoon and went to the nature garden to look for the fossils we made yesterday! We pretended to be palaeontologists and had to dig and search for our fossils! We also listened to some dinosaurs roars and role played being dinosaurs 
Today, Year 5 have been learning about online bullying. We had a big discussion this morning all about online bullying, what it means to be a bystander/upstander and how to block abusive users online. This afternoon, we consolidated our knowledge and created some Google Slides with our partners. We’ve been particularly focusing on formatting our slides and inserting hyperlinks!
This week year 1 we’re tasked to go on a litter pick for our worship
challenge ! We were super at this, we have cleared litter from
reception’s garden, the field and the nature garden! We really have
made the school look so much better! Well done year 1 
On Friday Year 2 enjoyed learning all about Germany. We learnt different human and physical features, with some of us comparing Berlin to London. We learnt about the Black Forest and used the outdoor space to sequence the traditional tale Little Red Riding Hood. We also loved learning about Albert Einstein and his significance in history. And finally we listened to music by a German composer and described what we could hear and the story we thought it was telling.
Year 1 had a fantastic day learning about Germany, on Friday. We started the day by learning about the famous German musician Ludwig Van Beethoven, we then wrote a fact file about everything we had learnt about his life. We then listened to one if his famous pieces of music The Storm ⛈and created art inspired by this piece. In the afternoon we used research skills to create a snapshot of Germany!
Year Four learned lots about Germany on Friday, looking at geography, history, music and German. We managed to pack lots into this day and have completed lots of tasks. To learn about historical German figures, Year Four used their orienteering skills to search for information around the school grounds and found out all about the contributions Germany has made to our world. We also had an interesting discussion about our opinions about a piece of Opera music written by Richard Wagner – Year Four had some amazing thoughts to share and used some impressive musical vocabulary! Well done Year Four (seer gut, Klasse 4 🇩🇪)
Year 5 loved learning about Germany on Friday! We have spoke about the events of the Holocaust, studied Anne Frank and her diary and even listened to Wagner’s ‘Ride of the Valkyries’ with Mrs Smith. Year 5‘s engagement and comments today have been outstanding!
There were smiles all round when Year 3 went on their first trip in almost two years this morning! The children took part in lots of different activities from relay races to piggy in the middle and a game called treasure hunt at the Multi-Skills festival. We even got to sing happy birthday to Zach on the coach!
Reception have had a fantastic week of learning in maths all about capacity! We have had so much fun and been taking part in lots of activities linked to this. We have enjoyed exploring in the water and sand with this and have been learning lots about full, nearly full, half full, nearly empty and empty
