Congratulations to our dedicated Eco Warriors who have boosted our bank balance by a whole £200 by coming Runner Up in the Primary Awards for Green Education in Schools.
They wrote, presented and created a video all about the issues that matter most to them. Here are some them accepting the award!

Miss Pape and Mr Richardson have both had some exciting days last week as part of their #30dayswild challenges! Mr Richardson found this lovely hedgehog in his garden, whilst Miss Pape found three baby blackbirds in their nest during some garden work – how fab!
Amber has been very busy each day to complete her 30 day wild challenge this week. She has planted potatoes, planted flowers, used natural materials to make a dinosaur world, used all her senses at the beach, watched planet earth and did a bug hunt. Her favourite activity this week was making bird feeders. #30dayswild
On Friday we had so much fun at Lego club! We copied patterns at the start and then we chose what we would like to create. Here are some of our Lego creations.
On Thursday 9th June Year 2 visited Little Haven in South Shields. We completed a senses activity to help us with our setting descriptions in English. We were impressed with the vocabulary children generated to describe what they could see, smell, touch and hear. We then had time to play in the sand with our friends.
On Sunday Lexi said she wanted to go litter picking so during our walk around Hebburn Cemetery, Lexi picked up some rubbish she found. Lexi spoke about plastics and how it is damaging to the environment and she spoke of what activities she does in Eco club.
‘Anna thought she was picking mam up from a school trip, only to find she was glamping as an early birthday treat. Anna and Ben had so much fun roasting marshmallows and chilling in the hot tub. We can’t wait to go back!’
Chicken and duck club has resumed and our children had another fantastic week! We absolutely love being able to get the children back in the coop caring for their birds!
Daniel and Lucy had a sad start to the holidays when of our Guinea pigs passed away. We have all been very sad, but Daniel and Lucy have been super brave. They have gone on to have lots of fun in half term holiday; going to farm with their aunties and cousins, getting ready for the Jubilee making crowns and going on a family walk to Jarrow Park with Mabel for a picnic. We then celebrated the Jubilee at a Picnic in the Park in East Boldon, where they made bird feeders and had lots of fun! To top the week off, Daniel, Marvellous and their Hebburn Involved U11 Sparks team mate won their first ever tournament! After 3 years of numerous semi-final defeats, they got the win!! We are all super proud of them, and it was their first ever 9-a-side games. We hope you all had lots of fun too.
Y6 had a fantastic time at their leavers’ service at Durham Cathedral! We completed prayer space activities all around transition before the service itself. We also enjoyed a little wander around Durham. Well done, Y6!
