Reception have had lots of Bee-bot fun in year 1 this morning for transition! We have been learning all about maps and positional language. Great work Reception
Wow what an amazing trip year 1 have had at Donnison School having a Victorian Experience! We explored and handled Victorian artefacts, made observations on Victorian children, played with Victorian toys and took part in a Victorian role play experience! It was AMAZING!
What a fantastic day our KS2 cheerleaders have had at the cheerleading festival! We had so much fun practicing our routine and learning some stunts, tumbles, jumps and a dance routine! I think we’re all tired after a day of non stop cheer fun

This week Year One have been exploring STEM linked to music. First, we looked at lots of musical instruments and the different sounds they make. Next, we used our fantastic musical knowledge to chose an instrument and create a plan to design it. We chose maracas!

. At the end of the week, we evaluated our products, discussing what went well and what we could improve next time. Some of our parents came in and helped us record our maracas! We have had a fabulous week

As part of our Ancient Civilisations topic, Year 4 visited the Great North Museum today to take part in an Ancient Egyptian workshop. We learned all about the hierarchy of jobs and discussed who was most important and why. We decoded hieroglyph puzzles and completed an explorer trail around the ancient Egypt gallery.

Reception have finished making their spin drums this week! We thoroughly enjoyed designing and making them
We have especially loved trying these out and have enjoyed playing along to some music with them
Miss Marley and Miss Riley think these are fantastic, well done Reception!
As well as doing our usual chicken and duck duties, we spent a lovely night in the nature garden making woodland tree spirits out of clay and natural materials. A firm favourite with our chicken and duck/forest clubbers!
Today, year 2 evaluated their products and thought about what went well and what could be improved. Children were able to say if their product looked like their design and if it was fit for purpose. We can’t wait to see our parents tomorrow for COOL afternoon so they can help us with the communicate part of our STEM week!
