This afternoon year 1 have started their computing learning all about technology around us, we found out that technology is anything that has been made to help us. We went on a technology hunt around the school and found so many examples of technology! 
Reception had a visit from the school nursing team today! We had a hand washing and hygiene session. We learned all about how germs spread quickly and had to use a ball of glitter to pass around…we all then had glitter on our hands! We learned a song how to wash our hands properly and how to take care of our teeth 
Year 3 said ‘hola’ to Mr Matias today in their first Spanish lesson of the year. They enjoyed lots of fun speaking, listening and writing activities. We were so impressed with their super counting and pronunciations!
What a super start year 1 have had to the half term, we have taken part in a debate morning. Firstly we found out what a debate was and debated big questions that are relevant to our little lives such as cats vs dogs, beach vs park and strawberry ice cream vs vanilla ice cream 🍨🐈🌊🐶. After playtime we used perplexed pictures to debate the big question Who was Jesus? Miss Booth is bursting with pride at how many fantastic and mature answers we have given today! Well done superstars ⭐
‘Thomas Experienced the Buddist Temple that he lives next to for their Kathina Day, he took part in the Alms Giving and The Ceremony of the Installation of Stained-Glass Windows. He was given some Thai food to try as well and thoroughly enjoyed it!’
‘Harry has been swimming loads this week and learnt how to swim! He is now going in the deep pool and swimming long lengths!’
‘Alfie had so much fun going to see Newcastle eagles play a basket ball match and even managed to get some autographs at the end!’
We have been blown away by the progress in Music in Year 3. Miss Topping joined us for our final lesson in our sustained listening unit. Since September we have been studying the seven elements of music and today’s lesson was all about texture. We found burgers and egg on toast helped us to remember rich and thin textures. Whatever works! 
Alfie and Oscar went to clip and climb this week as a treat for there good work at school. They both managed the stair way to heaven which is 15 metres and they both also completed most of the other climbing activities which are 25 metres! Wow – well done Oscar and Alfie!
As part of our Show Racism the Red Card day, Year 2 have been acknowledging our similarities and differences, as they are what make us unique. The children were particularly amazing at explaining how they can make others feel equal and included, such as inviting those who are alone to play, paying them compliments and sharing things with them. As one of our gorgeous children said, telling people they are beautiful makes them feel equal and special! Well done Year 2!
