Joe wrapped up ‘Christmas through age day’ with a trip back in time to Beamish. We had an absolutely magical time and it really got us in the festive spirit. Joe received a lovely gift from Santa and his grandad said he got the same gift for Christmas when he was a boy back in the 1950s 
Year 3 loved welcoming visitors of different ages into their class today to learn about Christmas from their perspective. Mr Appleby, Mrs O’Doherty and Mrs Craig shared what’s important to them at Christmas now and what Christmas was like for them when they were 7 and 8.
On Friday, Year 5 took part in ‘Christmas Through Age’ Day! We thought and discussed many Christmas days of past and present. We were incredibly lucky to have a range of visitors who were brilliant and talked to us about their Christmas traditions. Year 5 were incredibly engaged all day and had some brilliant questions!
Congratulations to our Show Racisim the Red Card Competition winners. They enjoyed seeing Newcastle United play in a friendly this weekend at St James’ Park against Rayo Vallecano. To secure the tickets, both Mitchell and Roma submitted passionate chants in support of the Magpies. Enjoy the game and keep the faith .

Y6 loved ‘Christmas Through Age’ day! They compared and contrasted what Christmas is like for people of their own age up to those in their 60s and many in between. The day certainly made us feel even more festive. Roll on all the Christmas activities of next week!
What a lovely way to end a fab week with our Christmas through the ages day. We have had lots of different visitors into our classroom representing lots of different age groups to talk about how Christmas looks for them. We’ve talked about our family traditions, how Christmas toys have changed throughout the years and how Christmas can look different for different people. Year 4 were fantastic welcoming visitors into the class and asking really insightful questions!
It really did feel like winter at our winter BBQ, this evening! However, there were no chills for us – we stayed toasty cooking our burgers and sausages! In between, we held snowman competitions, then ended the evening with fudgy, chocolate shortbread! A delightful night indeed! 🍔🍪🍽
Year 4 had a great morning yesterday preparing healthy snacks as part of our DT topic. We prepared a fruit salad, hummus and veggie sticks, and vegetable crisps out of beetroot, parsnips and sweet potatoes. We loved evaluating our snacks at the end when we got to taste test them!
Year 1 have had a fantastic Christmasy afternoon creating our 2023 calendars and decorating and eating Christmas biscuits. 
Year 4 absolutely loved their trip to the Christmas Cafe yesterday afternoon! We tried sprouts, gingerbread biscuits, mince pies and pigs in blankets too! Thanks so much Mrs Smith, Miss Pape, Mr Richardson and Mrs Conway for a fab afternoon
