‘Alfie and Oscar have had lots of fun in Scarborough! The sun was shining so they got to play in the sea and have fish and chips, then finished up at the arcades to spend daddy’s money!’

Reception had an interesting afternoon last week! We had a visit from the Openzone to help us with some computing skills. Wow we absolutely LOVED this and were so excited!! We were able to control some ‘Spheros’ which are like robot spheres! We used the iPads to direct and control these and had so much fun

Today year 1 have been continuing our learning on Judaism. We have
learnt all about The Shema and then created our own Torah scrolls and
wrote our own prayers in the style of The Shema! Don’t they look
wonderful!
Y6 celebrated the end of their SATs last Friday afternoon with their first of many post-tests trips! We met up with the Y6s from Bede Burn at Jarrow Park, where we took part in a bowls taster, chilled in the play area and played football. Well done Y6 for your tremendous effort levels across SATs week and watch this space for all the other trips upcoming!
Year 2 really enjoyed their trip to South Shields as part of their topic, Coastline. They identified and discussed physical and human features across the day. They had their picnic lunch, in the sunshine, and some play park fun before sheltering under trees to escape the sudden torrential rain! They all had a fantastic day and behaved impeccably!

Reception have had a great day on their trip to The Winter Gardens today! We learned lots of new things about animals in the rainforest and even had a feel of some snake skin! We also measured how long it was, it was 3 and a half children long! We then enjoyed exploring the museum where we had a look at a banana leaf, fed the fish and explored the animal exhibitions!

What a fantastic day Year 4 had at Monkton Stadium taking part in an athletics tournament organised by Mr Barron. We loved participating in all the events across the day, and were amazing at cheering each other on during races. Year 4 staff were so proud of the classes team spirit and the support they showed each other.
Year 3 kicked off their DT unit by investigating different mechanisms today. They made their own models testing out the slider, lever and linkage mechanisms. Next they made observations, drew conclusions and then shared these in video blogs which were uploaded to seesaw.
