This week reception are exploring ‘Air travel’ in their transport and journeys topic. This afternoon we have looked at ‘Space travel’ and pretended to launch our very own rockets! This was so exciting counting down from 10 🪐

Ivy went for her Sunday morning swim this weekend and Lexi was there too they had so much fun together!
Earlier in June, Year 3 had an interesting meeting with the Climate Change team at South Tyneside Council as part of our courageous advocacy project. They have just released a toolkit to help schools become carbon neutral and we are one of the first schools to be using this. We have lots of measures already in place, however Year 3 have identified some areas that we could be better at too. They are working and they’re hoping to share their campaign during our Friday assembly soon!
Year 2 loved their session with Mr Usher yesterday afternoon in Forest School. Children discussed the basic needs for survival and how they were different to wants. In groups, children made their own shelters. One group were able to keep the water out! Finally children ranked the needs of survival from most to least important. Staff were impressed with their evaluation skills.
Alex and Isabelle wanted everyone to know they managed to raise £75 on their football cards at the weekend! A big well done to you both!
Reception have grown their own potatoes! We loved digging these out today and searching for them in the soil! 
The Burton/Andersons have had a gorgeous weekend at the caravan, this weekend!
Reception loved their worship today! We focussed on our daily ‘physical’ bread. We were so lucky to have Mr Barron come and help us with this. We played some physical games and then we discussed why we were thankful for PE and why it is important to exercise! Well done Reception 🤩
Year 2 were absolutely loving having music on the yard this morning. They loved dancing to some of their favourite pop songs. Children made up their own dances and we loved everyone dancing together in the sunshine ☀️
