In RE, Year 4 are looking at the Pentecost. As part of our RE lesson this week, we created freeze frames to represent the day of the Pentecost, helping us to understand how and why Christians celebrate this.
Year 3 had a fantastic day learning about careers in so many industries yesterday. Probably our best aspirations day yet with over 20 different careers represented in the morning from bomb disposal, marine simulators, a midwife, physiotherapist….the list goes on!
Year 2 really enjoyed meeting lots of different people and businesses during their Aspirations Day afternoon.
What a brilliant day Year 4 have had for Aspirations Day! We have looked at what it means to ‘prosper’, and looked at the difference between our skills and our qualities. We thought about the questions we could ask our visitors to gain more knowledge about their jobs, and then went around all of the stalls at the careers afternoon!

Year 2 have had an amazing morning learning about lots of careers during Aspirations Day. We started off thinking of questions that we could ask our visitors and then we went into the hall where we got the opportunity to find out about so many different jobs and the skills and qualities needed to do them. Back in the classroom, we then sorted lots of different occupations depending on the skills and qualities needed for them as well as deciding on what careers we might be suited to too!
What a brilliant morning year 1 had for aspirations day! We generated a list of questions and then went into the hall to meet a wide range of people from different jobs from a midwife, fire service to bomb disposal! When we returned to the classroom we reflected on the people we had met and what we learnt about their jobs. We then wrote about what job we want to do when we are older. What an interesting and inspiring morning!

‘Yesterday, Alfie and Oscar helped their sister Sofia do a 3 mile sponsored walk to raise money for Sofia’s dance school. They enjoyed a picnic half way and ice cream at the end. We walked from Souter light house to Minchellas!’
‘Huge well done to Bodhi!

Reception and year 1 had a brilliant time on Friday afternoon linked to our topics! We had a visit from ‘Crazy Creatures’ and met lots of different exotic animals! We were able to hold and touch them, even put some around our neck and on our heads. This was so exciting and we were super brave, we loved it!
