On Thursday, Year 1 looked at different different types of Christian prayer, using jelly-babies to represent each type of prayer (Thea Thanks, Peter Praise, Suzy Sorry and Andy Ask). Children were each given their own jelly-babies and were asked to hold up which type of prayer was relevant at different points in the The Lost Son story.

Children were so well behaved and resisted the temptation to eat their jelly-babies while we were reading the story. At the end of the story, children were allowed to eat their jelly-babies, which they were very excited about! Finally children wrote their own Suzy Sorry and Ask Andy prayers about something they were sorry for.
