Today Class 3 took part in a workshop at the Discovery Museum. We went into the Story of Tyne area to listen how the Tyne became one of the nation’s most successful trading rives, using the 3-D map to support our understanding. Next we had to find different ships and boats which were built along the Tyne and answer questions about them. In groups we made predictions and tested which materials would be best to build a boat. Using the Museum’s Boat Menu we had to select the materials we needed and tested which boats floated best. All teams were successful and none of our boats sunk!
After lunch we looked at the different collections within the museum. Class 3 loved the shadow wall in the Science Maze.
