We introduced our new Understanding Christianity children to Reception today and started with the cold task big question of, “Why is God important to Christians?” Children had a vast array of answers for this from “He makes shoes” to “He helps people”. We delved a little more by looking at the story of Creation in Genesis and linking this to the Creation tile of Emma Yarlett’s ‘Big Frieze’. The children then made some of there own creations and through continuous provision investigated the story further.
