The B League Football has been cancelled tomorrow due to adverse weather warnings. There will be no football taking place till February 2018.

Due to the amount of interest in the residential trip for our Year Five and Six children to Thurston Outdoor Education Centre we have now managed to secure an extra twelve places for the trip taking the maximum number to 48 places. This leaves us with six places remaining. If you want one of the remaining places please can we ask you return your consent form with a £50 (non-refundable) deposit?

A HUGE well done to our Girls football team who have successfully won the Girls Central Venue League. They are a seven a-side team and played five teams in eight minute matches from across South Tyneside. The girls have now been placed in the ‘Champions League’ for future matches.

We are very lucky to have been offered some free Kalma Juniors Yoga sessions linked to anti-bullying on Monday 13th November for Years 3, 5 and 6.
Children are welcome to wear their school tracksuits all day on Monday or ensure they have their PE kit for the sessions which will be taking place on the afternoon.

Our Year Six girls have been learning all about how their bodies and emotions change during puberty on the fabulous Betty Bus!!
Morgan and Alex have been to Barcelona to stay on their Uncle Jame’s boat. They have had lots of fun!!
The Martins and the Blairs at ‘The castle on the hill (Framlingham Castle)’…we didn’t see Ed but we had lots of fun!
Year 5 visited the Great North Museum last week to gather information and ideas for our new topic. We took part in workshops investigating the legacy of the Ancient Greeks and explored the galleries using what we discovered to help us complete some activities. One of our challenges, was to use the animal gallery to create a chimera of our own creation which would inform our character descriptions on our return to school. The Greek gallery provided a wealth of inspiration to help us draw designs for Greek urns and vases which we will be sculpting in clay. A fantastic day was had by all. Thank you for your impeccable behaviour Year 5!
Today Year 5 has taken part in a ‘Campus Explorers’ event run by Newcastle University. Pupils a had the chance to explore the University through a virtual campus map, taking part in university subject specific games and activities along the way. We’ve had a fantastic time with our visitors and this has definitely encouraged Year 5 to aspire towards and think positively about their future learning and consider the possibilities which higher education could bring.
