We have been to Fort William and went up Ben Nevis had so much fun on the zoom track at the top and the sun was shining but it was windy up there, it was so high you could see for miles.

Jake has been going to dancing for three weeks and competed today for the first time, he came 4th and is over the moon.
Jake preformed in front of over 500 people. We are very proud of him!
Year three thoroughly enjoyed the Oriental Museum they took part in lots of activities throughout the day including investigating 3000 year old Egyptian artefacts and dressing up in Egyptian clothing. They asked and answered questions about ancient Egyptian life and death and even took part in a pretend mummification and journey to the afterlife.
Class 3 had fun with Mrs Wood learning how to make Egyptian Saboob Flat Bread which is linked to their topic of Ancient Egypt. They all enjoyed tasting it as well.
On Tuesday 10th January, Year 4 visited Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens. They got the opportunity to see a range of animals from around the world and learn about their habitats and how these animals have adapted over thousands of years to live in these environments. There was an opportunity to get up close to some of the animals and even go on a nature walk through the forest to see animals that have adapted to our local environment.
In Year Four we’ve now had two fantastic exchanges with our new friends at Laygate Primary School. On their initial visit to us we completed a range of team building games and activities to help us develop our communication and friendships. Since then we’ve had the opportunity to exchange letters comparing our interests and hobbies.
Today (Tuesday 8th November), we went on an exciting visit to our partner class at Laygate. We were involved in a Steel Drum based music lesson which we all absolutely loved. We’re now even planning a joint concert to show off the new skills we have learned together. It has been fascinating to learn about the similarities and differences we have with children who are in the same year as us!
Strange things have been happening in St Oswald’s wooded area!! All sorts of weird objects have appeared and Year Four have been using these as inspiration in starting to plan some short stories based around a dilemma like in the short film ‘Dangle’. Should they look up??? Move the beads of the abacus??? Push the button??? Watch this space…
