The Bell Family have really enjoyed their snow day and have spent the morning sledging.
This is Madison, her sisters & Finley the dog are all enjoying the Snow Day. Finley is so happy he is jumping for joy. They are in the middle of making a Snowman and an Igloo.
After 10,000 steps through the snow year 5 journeyed through the ages to look at how our local area changed through the Industrial Revolution. Beamish was a fantastic site to look at how mining fuelled the development of Great Britain.
The netball team have had an exciting afternoon at Temple Park. They won three games and drew one, meaning in their mini league they finished first with a score of 11 points. They then played a play off and won 1-0, meaning they advance to the final next Tuesday.
Their manners were amazing, and their teamwork was brilliant to watch. They were a real credit to St Oswalds and represented the school perfectly.
Year 5 had a fantastic visit to the Bishop Auckland Mining Art Gallery. We looked at the work of a range of famous artists and their motivation, expressing our own ideas on what the pictures meant to us. We also used charcoal and a printing press to create our own versions.




The children who had 100% attendance in Autumn term across Y2-Y6 had a fabulous time bowling today! We went to the bowling alley at the Dunes, where everyone supported each other along and really enjoyed the experience. It’s safe to say the staff enjoyed themselves too, especially Mr Hawkins!
The homework trip in KS2 was a fantastic day out for all of the pupils and staff involved. An action packed morning at Pirates Cove was a great way to celebrate all of their hard work at home over the last term.
Year 5 spent a lovely morning at Frankie & Benny’s seeing how restaurants catered for large groups and making their own pizzas. It was a great opportunity for Year 5 to develop their understanding of cooking whilst also getting to have some delicious lunches at the end of it!
