Year 4 continued with their science topic yesterday, and this week we looked at the different particles of solids, liquids and gases. To help us visualise this, we worked in groups to position ourselves correctly to represent each of the states.

On Friday, Year 2 completed a lesson all about giving instructions. We thought about using clear sequences of instructions and took turns writing and then following them with our partners. At the end of the computing lesson we all turned into Beebots and followed the sequence provided by Miss Topping. Well done Year 2!

Year 4 have spent their afternoon exploring coding as part of their computing unit. Using Turtle Academy, we followed the basic commands to make our turtle move in different directions. We then followed through the steps to turn, combine commands and create shortcuts. We LOVED this, and can’t wait for our next computing lesson already!

Following on from our Forest School session, Year 4 have been exploring states of matter further. We looked at lots of different materials to determine whether they were a solid, liquid or gas. However, some were harder to categorise than others…shaving foam and toothpaste caused quite a class debate!

Year 2 have had the best morning with their friends from Bede Burn! We focused on using our sticky knowledge from our ‘place value’ topic in Maths and looked for cones with questions and answers on them. Following that, we were super lucky and toasted marshmallows around the campfire!

Our school is now registered to take part in this great fundraising initiative through Asda and Parentkind, ‘Asda Rewards Cashpot for Schools’. Thank you
Year 1 have had a brilliant Time to Talk Day, yesterday! We spent time learning new adjectives to describe London, then we practised using conjunctions to extend our sentences. Finally we practised using a power stance and a clear voice to speak in front of others. We loved seeing all of our, parents, carers and grandparents for COOL afternoon!
A huge well done to our lovely Lydia who battled her nerves and got up to receive a trophy at her football presentation recently! Well done, Lydia – we are so proud!
