Year 3 explored the properties of watercolours by mixing colours and experimenting layering different colours. We mixed black and white to make the colours darker and lighter.
In Science, Year 3 looked at what is a healthy balanced diet and why should we eat it.
Year 3 had their PE lesson. They practiced different skills which included throwing, catching, pivoting and shooting.
Year 2 had the best time during our fit for fun morning on Friday! We were very hot and sweaty from all of the fantastic activities that were set up for us! Thank you to all the staff at St. Oz for doing this!

Year 2 had an amazing time during Sunshine Funtime Family Fun Day. We loved all of the mindfulness and being out in nature. We would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Whittle for organising it!
KS1 had a fantastic time during their Spanish party… they tried lots of Spanish food, listened to Spanish music and hit the piñata. We would like to say a big thank you to Mr Rundle for organising it all!
Year 2 created a piece of spiritual art yesterday based on the book The Boy Who Cried Wolf. We read the story and discussed the hidden meaning within it. We then created a piece of art based on the book. We each got a page from the book and recreated it on a piece of tracing paper. We then ordered the pages and placed them on top of a message from the book.
When you first look at our artwork it looks like we have just recreated the story but when you hold it up to the light, the truth comes to light and the hidden message of the story is revealed; a liar will not be believed even if they speak the truth!
On Friday, Year 2 took part in the St. Oz Music Fest where we sang 2 songs. We began by singing the ‘Paddington Theme Song’ with KS1 by Gary Barlow who is our Mover & Shaker for music. Then, we went onto sing ‘Just The Way You Are’ by Bruno Mars which focussed on one of our schools ethos & values… love. We had a gorgeous day and were super lucky that the glorious weather was on our side!
To support our Agents of Change theme, Year 2 have been learning about Newcastle Cat & Dog shelter which takes in animals and ensures that they have all of their rights met. This morning, we learned about the shelter and then created a fact file to share with our St. Oswald’s community which should give you some further information. Please read!
