As part of our science topic, Year 2 have been looking at seasonal changes and how this can affect different animal species. We worked in groups to answer different questions on how animals behave throughout the seasons.

Year 2 have had an amazing aspirations day! We have loved meeting lots of people from all different areas of life. We had a real focus on character traits and were able to ask professionals what character traits they need to display in their jobs!

Year 2 have had a brilliant time at Newcastle Castle yesterday where we continued our ‘Magnificent Monarchs’ learning in History. We were lucky enough to view a local castle and learn all about significant people within the North East!


Year 2 have combined History & PE today by using their sticky knowledge from last week’s orienteering lesson to support them in finding movers & shakers and creating a timeline in the chronological order. We began by using a map of the school grounds to find the points and locate individual movers & shakers. Once we had identified all of the points correctly, we then put our movers & shakers into a timeline!


Year 2 have been focussing on their position and directional knowledge within maths. We have been practically applying our new skills by making left, right, clockwise and anti-clockwise turns!

KS1 Spanish Club had the best time with Mr Rundle during their first session. They learned all about animals and consolidated their knowledge by playing some games of bingo!

Yesterday, Y2 took part in their first orienteering lesson in PE. We used the map of the school grounds to locate symbols that were placed all around. We were very good at finding all of the tricky hidden spots!
