Year 3 participated in an online quiz ran by The Word linked to Safer Internet Day. We completed 6 rounds of questions and finished with a great score of 29 out of 30. We had so much fun whilst also learning about staying safe online!

Some of Year 3 practiced a new skill today in gymnastics. We were practicing handstands and trying to improve our overall technique.
In English, Year 3 created a glossary to explain the meanings of new and unusual words by using a dictionary. This is helping us towards our Non-chronological report.
This week, Year 3 focused on different jumps. We practiced a variety of jumps and used our oracy skills to provide our friends with a good point and an improvement point about their jumps.
Today, Year 3 had a fantastic morning looking at L.S Lowry’s art work. We focused looking at the landscape of Lowry’s work and we created our own. Super work Year 3!
In Science, Year 3 conducted an investigation to measure the impact of friction. We chose different surfaces and attached a Newton metre to test the frictional force. We then recorded this information onto a bar chart and table to see which surface had the greatest and the smallest frictional force.
Year 3 had an amazing morning at their multi skills festival. They completed lots of activities led by some brilliant sports leaders. We had so much fun!
For World Religion Day, Year 3 discussed ‘What kind of world do Jews and a Muslims want?’ We looked at the 10 Commandments in Judaism and the 5 Pillars of Islam and wrote down how they reacted to what type of world Muslims and Jews wanted.
Year 3 enjoyed their rich experience delivered by Rachel and Joanne from The Sill. We were even joined by our class governor Richie! We got to explore different rocks and how they are used. We had so much fun. We can’t wait to learn more in our Rocks, Relics and Rumbles topic!
Today, in geography we worked in pairs to locate volcanoes using latitude and longitude coordinates.
