Year 3 had an amazing time at Beamish on Friday. We explored the museum and looked at how human geography has changed over time. We were amazed to see how much human features have  changed from the Victorian times until now!

For ‘No Pens Day’, Year 3 identified what choices they make at school, home, outside and discussed what choices we find difficult to choose from and used our oracy skills to record on Seesaw. We then discussed and explained the importance of hygiene and what to do if we feel unwell and how we can help stop spreading diseases. For COOL afternoon we had an Emergency Service quiz to show our knowledge to some parents/carers. Well done Year 3!

For Fibonacci Day, we looked at how we follow an addition rule to complete a sequence. We then wrote on Pascal’s triangle by adding the adjacent numbers and writing the answer. Some of us continued the Fibonacci series by adding the last two numbers to make the next one.

On Friday, Year 3 challenged themselves in line of the theme of Children in Need. We discussed what mental health was and how it could be effected.

In Geography, Year 3 sorted ‘human and physical features’ we then located European countries and cities using an Atlas. 

Today, Year 3 focused on multiplying by 3. We skipped counted in threes, slowly removing numbers as we went to improve our knowledge.

Year 3 enjoyed their day at Hancock Museum. We explored the museum and completed a workshop where we got to explore replica relics from the Stone Age and the Bronze Age.

This week for anti-bullying week Year 3 have looked at different scenarios, discussed and recorded how we can use our power for good to rectify them.

Yesterday, Year 3 practically used resources to help share and to group to divide. This is to help us with answering questions for tomorrow’s lesson.
