Yesterday, our reception class mixed vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and coke together and poured it into their volcano. They had so much fun and learning as they created and watched the chemical reaction.
The Reception children have worked well today. They have created a volcano linked to the STEM project ‘Dinosaurs’.
Harper and Shay have made wooden puppets today as part of Harper’s toy topic! They look amazing!
Isabella has had a lovely Christmas at home with family. This included baking some gingerbread for Santa, wearing her new Ariel costume, eating a delicious Christmas lunch and some refreshing walks out and about.
Nathaniel has been busy today helping mum make the mince pies for Santa.
Nathaniel doesn’t like mince pies so we made a giant jam tart too.
Reception had an amazing morning at the Christmas Cafe, they tasted lots of different foods and enjoyed the tasty treats on offer!
Alex and Isabelle would love to let everyone know they went to meet santa with their little sister Charlotte. Even the Grinch paid a little visit while they were there.
Harper and Shay have had a lovely festive weekend this weekend making baubles for the tree and visiting father Christmas at Alnwick. They were so happy to be told they were on the nice list year they have also had a lovely week at school we couldn’t thank the staff enough for making it so magical for the children they’ve loved it.
Shay and Harper were invited to be VIPs at the Alnwick Light Trail. They have shared:
‘We walked around and seen all the light shows,there was a Xmas disco stage and we learn to toast marshmallows on the fire. The talking snowman was our favourite he was so funny. We can’t wait to go back and meet father Christmas this weekend fingers crossed were on the good list this year xxx’
What a fab Christmas treat!
Today Reception have been taking part in a Christmas music day. We have been listening to Rudolph the red nose reindeer and Little Donkey! We played lots of music games to find out what a beat was, we even marched around the classroom to 1234. We had to find the beat of the songs using our ‘frog beat’ hands! Once we found the beat we then picked some instruments and added them to the song to go along to the beat, it was sometimes fast and sometimes slow.
