Reception had a great Hello Yellow day, engaging in lots of activities linked to their feelings and mental health! They had to think about lots of emotions that they might feel and how they felt on Friday! 😁

Reception have had a brilliant afternoon exploring in the nature garden. We have been learning all about our 5 senses and so went on a senses hunt! We had to draw some pictures of what we could see, hear, smell and touch. We decided there was nothing to taste in the nature garden though and so thought about what we had for lunch today! 
Reception kicked off our road safety sessions this week and took part in a road safety workshop! We learned lots about road safety and how to cross a road

Reception have been super busy this week painting their self portraits! Wow we think these are amazing and look just like them! 
Wow, Reception have been thoroughly enjoying getting to know their new school over this last week! We have been having so much fun playing and exploring our new environment and provision. We have been making lots of new friends and getting to know all of the things Reception has to offer. Well done on a great start to St Oswald’s Reception

They have completed lots of races at home , which included: The egg and spoon race,
a sack race, an obstacle course , balancing objects. Some children created a new PE kit
Reception have had a great afternoon testing out our boats in the water! We were so excited and have had a fantastic time playing and experimenting with our boats. We even placed some people figures into our boats to see if they could take the weight and be carried ️

Reception enjoyed their worship challenge the week and loved looking for daisies! We have thought about forgiveness, what we have said sorry for and how we feel if someone accepts our apology.
This week reception are exploring ‘Air travel’ in their transport and journeys topic. This afternoon we have looked at ‘Space travel’ and pretended to launch our very own rockets! This was so exciting counting down from 10 🪐
