Year One have been looking at the story The Colour Monster. We have chosen colours that match with our emotions and explained it through our art.
‘Harper and Shay came in to a special delivery this afternoon which was sent to them by a very special family member for how hard they’ve worked from home and have been staying safe and missing family. We are proud of how well they’ve coped during the lockdown and how sensible they’ve been and they are loving being back at school with the staff and their friends!’
Year 1 have spent some time thinking about the importance of complimenting themselves and others. We love this, year 1!
Joshua wants to share with St Oswalds what he has learned this lockdown. He can now ride his bike and is so confident!

Amber enjoyed dressing up as Anna for home schooling yesterday. She then changed into her pyjamas this afternoon, just like Miss Booth!
We have been looking at 2D shapes and their properties. We have matched the shapes with their names and descriptions. Then we went on a shape hunt around the classroom.
Amber completed her own investigation to find the most suitable materials for the 3 little pigs and of course testing the houses using a hair dryer!
This is what her mam told us, ‘Amber has really enjoyed this activity. She really thought about how she was going to make the houses and of course enjoyed trying to blow them down with the hair dryer.’

During science we have made 3 houses with different materials including straw, brick and play dough. We predicted which material would be most suitable and unsuitable for the 3 little pigs. We then evaluated the changes that could make the houses more suitable.
For worship we discussed the difficulties and effects of COVID 19. We thought about our fears and how we have overcome them. We then wrote on plasters of people we miss so when we see them we can think about how we will see them again one day.
