During PE yesterday Y1 played handball. We had to listen to our team mates, not move with the ball and use under and over arm throwing. We had lots of fun!

Today Year One created tiger masks as we having been reading the story The Tiger Who Came To Tea in our English lessons. We have created these for our role play tomorrow morning. We hope you like them!
For year 1’s forest school this afternoon, we were consolidating our learning on compass points and using this to find new positions/places within our school grounds. Miss Booth and Miss Robson were so impressed with the learning this afternoon! Great job year 1 👏⭐️🧭
As you know, in our science lessons in Y1, we have been talking about our senses. This week we learnt about taste. Year one did a taste test by identifying different foods and describing how the foods tasted!
For Hello Yellow Day, year 1 used the film Inside Out to discuss and identify different emotions we feel. We discussed how the character Riley was feeling and then what makes us feel that way. We then spoke about how we can manage our feelings and what strategies we can use to calm down when angry or sad. Great work year 1 ![]()

Our lovely Evelyn, in year 1, told her family all about Amanda and how she gave the class a virtual tour of the Baltic and showed the class all the sculptures. Evelyn asked to visit the Baltic this weekend and she wanted to share her photos with everyone!
Wow what a morning year 1 have had! We had a virtual workshop with Amanda from The Baltic. She took us on a virtual tour to see all of the amazing sculptures within The Baltic. She then showed us photographs of past sculptures that have been there. We then used our bodies to recreate the sculptures. After the workshop we sketched a sculpture of our choice. We also used paper to create our own sculpture! What a fantastic morning!
