For our English we have been reading the story Dear Father Christmas. Today we have written a shared letter to Santa. By the end of the week we will have created our own. We thought we would share some of our ideas with you!

Year 1 had a fantastic day today for Children in Need. First we helped to fill Pudsey out of copper and then we had a dance-a-thon which we non stopped danced for 30 minutes. We had so much fun but we were exhausted at the end of it! This afternoon we then made puppets and moving Pudsey’s which we have cut out and then coloured and used split pins to make his arms and legs move.

Miss Booth and Miss Robson are so proud of our lovely year 1 class for delivering this weeks worship to the whole school! You all spoke with confidence, lovely loud voices and knowledge for anti bullying week! We have received lots of fantastic feedback from other classes and we couldn’t be prouder! Great job superstars ️

This afternoon Year one practiced using different techniques to join fabrics to be able to create a cushion so the stuffing doesn’t fall out. When you see us tonight, ask us which one was best!

Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed their creative worship task this morning creating poppies for Remembrance. We worked with a partner to create our poppies. We created our poppies using a range of media, such as paint, collaging and coloured pens or pencils! Great job year 1

Year 1 have loved their Miles Away Monday to Spain!

Year 1 loved our surprise visit this morning from Mrs Smith who delivered our first letters from our pen pals at Bede Burn. We cannot wait to read these and begin our pen pal journey  ️

In our science today we have looked at the sense of hearing. We have labelled different parts of the ear and also listened to different sounds to see if we could recognise what we thought it could be
