18th November 2024Jade Sharrock

Today, Year 3 celebrated Children in Need. In line with the theme of Children in Need, we used our oracy skills to discuss the light and dark aspects of our lives and how we could bring a bit of light to someone else’s life. We also used our oracy skills to communicate with our partners and give 100% focus to try and draw matching pictures of Pudsey whilst being back to back!

14th November 2024Jade Sharrock

For Anti -Bullying week and apart of our worship challenge we took part in CBBC Anti-Bullying live lesson 2024. We finished a ‘Respect’ acrostic poem, wrote ideas down on how we could help stop conflict and how we would feel if someone behaved disrespectfully towards us. Well done Year 3!

Year 3 – Oracy Challenge! – 14.11.2024

14th November 2024Jade Sharrock

For early work this week, Year 3 were asked by Mrs Smith and Mrs Sharrock to use what we had learned when we received our oracy training on Wednesday.

We drew a monster step by step following our friends’ instructions and used our listening skills, giving 100 % focus and asking clarifying questions to dig a little deeper to receive more information from our partners.

At the end, we saw each others drawings to see if they looked similar and discussed how we could’ve improved our oracy skills.

Year 3 – Anti-bullying Week! – 12.11.2024

12th November 2024Jade Sharrock

For Anti-bullying week, we looked at peer pressure and the effects it may have on people.

We looked at different examples of peer pressure, decided whether they were positive or negative examples of peer pressure and why, how we should report peer pressure then looked at ways we can fight against and resist peer pressure from others!

Later on in the week, we will be focusing on the importance of reporting things to ensure we’re safe.

Year 3 – NatWest Workshops! – 08.11.2024

8th November 2024Jade Sharrock

Today, we had a visit from NatWest who came into Year 3 today to deliver a Money Sense workshop.

We worked in teams of 4 to plan a party. We decided on the items we needed for the party, ranked them in terms of importance, worked out how many of each item we needed and how much they would cost us to buy. We then presented our parties to the class. We really enjoyed using our maths and problem solving skills to help us figure out how much it would cost us to finance our party.

Thank you Mrs Whittle for organising this for us!
