


Year 2 have been creating Great Barrier Reef Art in the style of the artist, Eugene Rubuls.
Year 2 have had a fun filled day learning about South Africa. We spent the morning using maps to locate the country, continents and oceans around South Africa and neighbouring countries. We then learnt about Nelson Mandela and why he was significant. We have learnt lots of facts and will conclude our learning next week.


For their worship challenge this week Y2 went on a litter pick. This was linked to our learning around plastic pollution and litter going into the oceans.
Year 2 had a fabulous taster session with Kelly this morning. We did lots of fantastic activities around drama and improvisation. Thank you Kelly for an amazing morning!
Year 2 had a fun filled morning at Fit 4 Fun!
Wow! What a wonderful and fun morning Year 2 had for their sports day. Well done to all of the children joining in and giving each race their best. Thank you to Miss Marley and Mr Barron for organising such a fab morning.

On Friday afternoon Year 2 were using coins to make the same value with different coins. Children had to recognise the value of each coin, add together two or more coins and explain how they made the same amount a different ways.
On Monday 13th June Year 2 and Year 6 visited Al Azhar Mosque in South Shields. As part of our learning in RE we learnt about the five pillars of Islam and praying. Children had fantastic discussions with Daniel and Ismail from the Islamic Diversity. We then visited West Park for a packed lunch and a play in the park.
