This morning, Year 3 continued their work around dementia for agents of change and thought about how it affects the individual and those around them. We completed Venn diagrams by adding points about how each individual is affected – those with dementia, their family and their friends!
For RE, Year 3 looked at the story of Rama and Sita.
We looked at how this links to the festival of Diwali. We retold the story in groups and answered questions about the main message in the story which was ‘Light overcomes darkness.’ We also looked how Rama and Sita represent Hindus and where does the festival of light comes from.
Year 3 had a fun filled afternoon as we took part in our maths adventure day. We worked together to crack the code to escape the laser. A big thanks to Mr Richardson for making maths so fun! 
Yesterday afternoon Year 3 were superstars during their visit to Living Well With Dementia for their agents of change advocacy work.
We visited the Charity and performed song songs to the visitors. Then, we took some Summer-themed colouring in and word searches and worked with those with dementia and their careers to complete them.
Year 3 were so compassionate and loving throughout the entire visit and we couldn’t be prouder if we tried!!
These superstars also received some gorgeous feedback from the team at the charity – a HUGE well done, Y3!
Year 3 had the best day learning all about the Euros, on Friday! We went back in time and learned about the founding of the Euros, have designed our own football kits and played football at break and lunch times all day! Thank you Miss Randle for organising it for us!
Yesterday, Y3 continued with their work as agents of change for dementia and created name labels in preparation for our visit to Hebburn Living Well With Dementia on Monday. We spoke about how name labels will support those with dementia when they meet us for the first time as they won’t have to remember our names and can just read our gorgeous forget-me-not themed labels!
In art Year 3 are looking at ‘botanical art’. We watched a botanical artist and studied plants closely to sketch our plant. We then used water colours to record swatches of colour.
In Year 3 we have created a page in our floor book to show our learning about what digital devices are, how digital devices work and which devices need an input and an output. We could tell some of us had great discussions at home for our talk homework this week and this helped us to show our knowledge in class to help us with our work today.
Yesterday, Year 3 went to The Discovery Museum to start their Science topic all about ‘Light & Shadows’. We learned about how fast light travels, made a camera obscura and even got to play with light in the Science maze!
This week Year 3 have been practising our back stroke. We were told to keep our eyes up, kick our legs and keep our arms to ourselves.
