Thank you to all of our parents and carers for a gorgeous reception parent lunch!

Today reception have continued our topic learning of Build It Up. We explored different types of homes and compared them to our own homes. The children were encouraged to describe the building they live in and its features. In their independent learning children were encouraged to build homes in the construction, follow instructions in the malleable area to build with lolly sticks and use their fine motor skills to design a home. Well done our little builders!

Yesterday, reception continued their learning of Let’s Explore using the story of Mini Rabbit, Not lost to focus on the theme of getting lost. We discussed the key messages of the story and made connections to our own lives, reflecting on a time we got lost and what we did to get help. In our independent learning, we thought about who are safe strangers and who could help us if we were lost. Well done everyone
Reception and Year 6 buddied up to enjoy and reflect for International Day of Peace

For our worship challenge this week, reception were tasked with sorting actions that would result in a happy or sad earth. We thought hard about why these actions are happy or sad and how we can be caretakers for our world.
As part of our Let’s Explore learning, reception have been learning all about our school. Last week we went on a tour of the school, meeting the staff and visiting the different rooms. This week we have been thinking about which animals live in our school grounds. Well done superstars, you’re brilliant explorers!

This week in RE reception have been learning about the Creation Story and how Christians believe God created the world in 6 days. We sequenced the story with Miss Riley and had independent activities in our provision.

Reception LOVED National Fitness Day – wowing Mrs Sharrock, Miss Riley & Miss Thompson with their fabulous fitness knowledge and super running skills! If you blink, you might miss them!
Reception had another wonderful Forest School session yesterday! As part of our new topic, Build It Up, we became builders for the morning, exploring different materials to create and shape bricks from… We considered how we could change and adapt our designs, including which materials worked better and why! Another messy morning for us!
