Today Year 1 started their computing unit on moving a robot. Children had the opportunity to tinker with the beebots and explore how to use the buttons to move the beebot. Children were very excited to experiment!

Today Y1 completed their cool task for their PE unit, striking and fielding. Children practised how to hold a racquet in a handshake grip and then moved around the room balancing a beanbag on the racquet. Finally children practised flipping the beanbag and controlling it as it landed on the racquet.
Year 1 have been experimenting in science by making wind socks. The children used these to measure the wind and record a reading on the Beaufort scale.
Year 1 put their Design and Technology skills to the test today!




Year 1 have started their new DT unit of Taxi! We investigated a range of everyday objects to see if we could locate and identify the axle, chassis and wheels. The children loved this activity and discussed how easy it was to find the parts of a vehicle. 

Year 1 have begun their tales of trust learning in worship this morning. We recapped the story of Noah’s Ark, then worked together to sequence and retell the story. Great job superstars 
Year 5 and Year 1 teamed up last week, to participate in our prayer space day themed around our school values. We completed tasks together linked to trust, growth, strength, wisdom, trust and peace.
This morning, year 1 visited Jarrow library. The lovely Catherine read the children a story then they had time to read for pleasure and choose a book to bring back to school.
