Reception had a great afternoon this afternoon exploring our nature garden and bird coop, thinking about where our food comes from and what we have on our doorstep!
Reception had an amazing time at Morrisons looking at different food and discussing where it was sourced. We bought lots of lovely fresh fruit and scanned it ourselves. We will be using the fruit as part of our learning about healthy eating linked to our PE!
Some of our reception children chalked their own lengths outside, today! Then they had to race to a friend, check their line and draw a line either longer, or shorter, after listening carefully to Mrs Sharrock’s instructions!
Reception jumped straight back into their phonics yesterday and we applied our digraphs and tricky words. We challenged the children with writing captions, introducing children to capital letters and full stops.
This afternoon, Reception went into their garden to explore their new provision! It was definitely a hit. We cannot wait to see how our learning progresses in our different areas of learning across the term.
Our very own reception superheroes helped to save the city by completing tasks at Temple Park for Batman and Captain America! Can you work out their real identities?

Love was in the air, this week!
Reception started the Valentine’s Day celebrations early with their LOVE disco on Tuesday night. We then had a fun filled morning. Some of us made Valentine’s Day cards, apply our phonics and tricky words. We then got creative and painted tricky words and read them.
Finally we had to mend the broken hearts and match the initial sound to the pictures.
