The Pirates are Coming! Reception have had a fun filled afternoon getting ready for our pirate day on Friday. We have been making our own eye patches and hats. We put our cutting and colouring skills to the test! Reception are loving this part of our ‘On the Beach’ KRP.
Reception made the most of the sun yesterday and explored the outdoor provision during play time. We loved playing together and exploring the different areas.
Reception have had an amazing morning with Adventure Maths! We have been revisiting and recapping their learning. We have been fishing for shapes, weighing different food items, fixing the Queen’s necklaces, finding number bonds to 10 and counting to 20.
Reception had a gorgeous day at Cullercoats Bay. We loved enhancing our learning around ‘On the Beach’. We built sandcastles, splashed in the sea, had our packed lunch on the sand, played with the frisbees and enjoyed an ice lolly.
Reception have loved raising awareness for Heart Health and Chuf Charity. Thank you Y4 for an amazing challenge and fundraising day 
This morning, reception had a visit from our gorgeous Henry. We discussed how we take care of dogs and the importance of food and exercise. We then took Henry for a walk!
What an afternoon we’ve had in reception! Our new topic is on the beach, and my goodness, Mrs O’Doherty gave us a beach experience like no other – in our very own nature garden! WOW!
Thank you Mrs O’Doherty, we had the ABSOLUTE BEST afternoon and loved ended our afternoon with story time and an ice lolly treat! ⛵️⛱
We could not be prouder of the boys and girls in reception. They have hit the ground running after half term and have all impressed us with their writing. We have been focusing on letter formation, sentence structure and independence! Well done reception!
Reception had the most amazing rich experience meeting the firefighters during Aspiration’s Day! Children had the opportunity to discuss the parts of a fire engine and heard all about the different equipment used. They even got to sit inside the engine and spray the hose!
Yesterday afternoon, Reception visited St Oswald’s church to meet with Ordinand Jonny, our class governor. He took us around the church to discuss the different features and explain why it was a place of worship and why it was special to Christians.
