As part of our Art topic, Portraits and Poses, Year 2 sketched their own portraits of their partners. We brought an item which represented us to include in the portrait. We then used
our computing skills and used Paintz app to create our portraits using technology.
This week in worship, Miss Randle set us the challenge ‘how are we the church’. We each filled in a church template explaining how we attend with family/friends, how it’s a place of peace to connect with God and a place of praise and celebration.
For worship, Y2 are connecting with our new starters, thinking about friendship and fellowship! In worship today, we made pictures for each new starter. Mrs Urwin and Miss Randle will give each child a picture following their visit this week and next. We cannot wait for our new friends to start!

Year 2 loved today’s worship… toast Tuesday! We got to connect with others and think about our mental health whilst eating toast!
Year 2 have continued their learning of Magnificent Monarchs and examined royal portraits this afternoon. We looked at a range of portraits and discussed how they can portray how a monarch ruled. We thought about the clothes they wore, the background and the objects they had in their possession!
Year 2 have loved learning about Shakespeare today! We created a fact file all about him and thought about the impact of his plays in today’s society. Then, we looked at Queen Elizabeth 1, in line with our new Magnificent Monarchs topic, and learned all about how she celebrated the arts and music. Finally, we learned all about his famous sayings and how he created words like eyeball and gossip!
Year 2 have had a brilliant first day back learning all about habitats and migration at the Washington Wetlands! We loved being out in nature and learning all about Ava the Osprey and how she was going to travel south across the sea and desert!
