Y5 absolutely LOVED our trip to Northumberland to learn about the areas landscape and to go stargazing! The collage doesn’t show the whole picture of the experience, mainly because we couldn’t take photos during the stargazing itself (other than the one you can see of the Moon), but ask any of the children and they’ll tell you all sorts about the trip! Well done, Y5 – you were an absolute pleasure to take on this rich experience!
Y5 loved their trip to Hebburn Library on Monday and all have new books for the rest of the term. Bring on every more reading for pleasure over the coming weeks!
Year 5 had a fab Forest School session last week with their friends from Bede Burn. We explored our new DT topic, looking at pneumatics and creating pneumatic systems. We thought about our sticky knowledge from our previous learning around states of matter and forces, and used this to help us. Great work Year 5!
Y5 had a fantastic time at the Oriental Museum in Durham yesterday to launch their Dynamic Dynasties topic, building their substantive and disciplinary knowledge in the morning before competing art and oracy-based tasks in the afternoon. Well done, Y5!
Year 4 were extremely lucky to spend the morning with Garry and Jane from Able Construction, who have been working alongside our school, to create something for our nature garden.
The children researched and designed some plans for an outdoor work bench, which Garry then helped them make! How amazing is their finished product?! We can’t wait to put it to use!
A big thanks to Able Construction for all of their time and help…they have even kindly donated some wood to the school to help reinforce our chicken and duck coop!
So, year 4 didn’t let the rain stop their fun this morning! We made the most of it and enjoyed our indoor sports day activities in the hall led by Miss Marley and Mr Barron!
Well done Year 4 on your fab sportsmanship today!

What an AMAZING day!!!! Year 4 have loved their morning for Fit for Fun, sampling tennis, football, rounders, rugby and lots of fun games! We ended with a whole school picnic, celebrating all things bright beautiful! It is so lovely to see our school community come together
This week for our worship challenge in Year 4, Year 2 gave us the task of creating our own posters to spread awareness of plastic pollution and protecting our environment. Year 2 inspired us to spread the word after their amazing efforts as Agents of Change!
Year 3 and 4 have had the BEST afternoon seeing a live band perform! We spoke with the musicians about different genres of music, instruments, call & response and showed off our funky dance moves!
